Female Snowmobiler Killed Near Atlin, B.C.

Atlin, B.C. - RCMP say a 32-year-old woman was killed in a snowmobiling accident in a remote area in northern B.C.
Officers from the communities of Atlin and Carcross, Yukon continue to investigate the fatality that occurred on Sunday afternoon. Emergency first responders were called out for reports of an injured rider, but the female had succumbed to her injuries by the time medical personnel arrived.
RCMP say the woman had been driving a two-person machine, with a passenger, that crested a small hill and then dropped a few feet, coming to a sudden stop. Police say she was wearing a helmet and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this tragedy.
The victim was a resident of Whitehorse. No name has been released.
