Prince George, B.C. - After the economic challenges of last year, Initiatives Prince George is optimistic about opportunities for growth in 2010...

IPG has presented to city council, what president, Tim McEwan, calls, a "stay-the-course budget" -- with no funding increases requested.

McEwan says the Prince George Airport is one of the areas where Initiatives continues to expect tangible results, although he encouraged council to push for the adoption of an Open Skies policy, which would significantly open up trade opportunities.

McEwan says other priorities for IPG in 2010 will include encouraging new mining developments, pushing for improvements on the pine pass and advocating for harmonization of the environmental assessment process.

Open Skies Policy,,,, hmmm I think we should have got that first before we spent 36 million dollars to have the third longest runway in Canada.

Ironically only 50 feet shorter than the one in Vancouver. I would have added the extra fifty one feet just for spite. It came in under budget, so why not. Or would Vancouver's nose be out of joint because of it.
Might have to repave the runway soon given all that overseas air traffic. Wonder how much this white elephant costs the taxpayers. Hurry up with Boundary road so we can all drive up to the new runway and watch the jumbo jets land.
What line are they towing?
Surely they aren't going to pick up the slack in that line, but I guess they would have to in order to tow the line.
Sounds vaguely nautical.
