Prince George, B.C. -  As part of the City's second phase in the development of the myPG sustainability plan, youth input is being sought at an evening workshop.

After gathering soliciting input over the fall and early winter on what Prince George residents envision for the city's future (click here, for previous story), city staff say myPG is now moving into the "pivotal phase" of developing shared strategies and a clear community sustainability plan.  This phase will link technical work with community engagement with the goal of producing a long-term strategy for Prince George.

Five strategy workshops are part of this phase.  Two were held earlier this week on: 1. land use and transportation, and 2. buildings, infrastructure and open space.  The third, a youth strategy development workshop, goes this evening at 7pm in Room 208 at the Civic Centre.  It's being billed as a "fun, interactive session for youth interested in shaping the environmental and social future of Prince George."  Organizers are hoping to get some broad strategy suggestions from the youth in attendance on all components of the sustainability plan.

The final two workshops are on economic development on March 3rd at UNBC's Bentley Centre, and social development on March 4th back at the Civic Centre in Room 208.  Both workshops run from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.

It's expected a full draft plan will be made public at the end of March.  For more information, click here.
