Hockey fans are taking advantage of CN Centre's broadcast of the game

Prince George, B.C. - THE GAME IS ON....

Team Canada and Team USA are doing battle in the final event at the Winter Olympics...the Men's gold medal hockey game.

On the line for Canada, is the chance to break the record for most golds won by a country at the Winter Olympics.  Canada's 13 golds ties records set by the Soviet Union in 1976 and Norway in 2002.

At the end of the first period, Team Canada leads 1-0 on a goal by Jonathan Toews.

A few hundred have gathered at CN Centre to watch the game broadcast live on the jumbo-tron scoreclock.

Local MLAs Shirley Bond and Pat Bell were joined at centre ice by Prince George Mayor Dan Rogers and two minor hockey players for a ceremonial puck drop, prior to the game getting underway.

The CN Centre scoreclock/video screen was actually an Olympic 'Live' sites funding initiative by the provincial government back in 2006, in preparation for these Winter Games.

Fans, like Bob Greenaway (photo at right) are taking advantage of a chance to gather and see the game for free here at home.

It is quite a different story for those at the game in Vancouver, both Showtimetickets.com and Craigslist had single tickets available for today's game anywhere from $3,000-$6,000.

And on Vanoc's fan-to-fan re-sale site...prepare yourself for this one...tickets for four seats together in section 121, row 23 were being offered up for a mere $100,000.
