Prince George, B.C.- February’s weather will hit the books as warmer and dryer than normal, and the latest report from Environment Canada Meteorologist Jim Steele shows the thee months of winter were below norms for snowfall, and higher than normal rain.
Here is his full report:
The month started off on the mild side and persisted for the first 2 weeks. A bit of a cool down arrived near the 18th and ended by the 24th. Temperatures were a bit on the cool side however hardly anything that one would refer to as the depths of winter. The last few days of the month saw a return to the very mild conditions.

On the precipitation side of things, the milder than normal temperatures resulted in more rainfall than normal however snowfall was on the other side of the coin, below normal. In the end the monthly precipitation comes in slight over half the normal amount.

And Dan the Man says we need more budget for snow. Goes to show the money was used else where, and there never is a real budget for snow removal. Just something that city council can cry over and reason to raise taxes. My guess it's the same for pot holes.
Interesting stats. Thanks for posting them Opinion 250 !!
My Terasen gas bill sure doesn't reflect the warmer temps, my bill went up from last year. Guess they have to make their quota somehow.
If you user a lot of Terasen gas your bill will go up. If you send less garbage to the landfill, your rates will go up. Either way they gotcha. Screw recycling. It obviously doesn't have any rewards except a dull peace of mind. If a company sells less, they charge more instead of lowering the price. I recollect the aquarium in Stanley Park being disappointed at their yearly take of dough. It was down. So what did they do? Lower prices to attract more people to make more money? Nah! That won't work. They raised their admission fees. Correct me if I'm wrong but thirty dollars or more for a family of four? Bah! Humbug! Greed is the new logic!
Why do you think resturants go broke. The less people that come in the more they raise the prices, till nobody comes in.
Raise the service, and make it enjoyable with good food with reasonable prices. You will find that your a rich person.
No more underlining for me, thanks. Don't need someone elses emphasis to get my point across.
Right on !!!, Harbinger.
Mine underlined all by itself
