Youth Charged In Connection With Hit And Run In PG

Prince George- An 18 year old youth has been arrested in connection with an early Saturday morning hit and run. The Prince George man has been charged with failure to remain at the scene of a collision, fail to provide the necessities of life and obstruction.

He has been released from custody with a promise to appear in late May in court.

The charges stem from a hit and run after a 33 year old woman was found lying near the former Esso Service station just before two last Saturday morning by staff working overnight at Save-On –Foods.  She remains in hospital in critical condition.

Just a thought. If he wasn't responsible enough to stay at the scene and help the woman he hit, why is he suddenly responsible enough to promise to show up for court in May? Couldn't he at least stay in jail as long as the woman stays in hospital? I'll even pitch in for the milk and cookies.
Exactly ski50. Lock him up until trial. Did he turn himself in or was he found by detective work?

Does he still get to drive while he's waiting for his day in court?
