Quesnel, B.C. - A report of a fire at a residence in the fourteen hundred block of Lavington Road in Quesnel failed to yield a fire Tuesday; it did however result in a drug bust.

Police say when they arrived on the scene they were unable to find a fire,  but did find a large marihuana grow op instead. On March 10th police executed a warrant on the home and seventeen hundred marihuana plants , equipment to grow the plants, along with two vehicles were seized from the property.

A further investigation revealed that the grow op was tied into Asian Organized crime from Vancouver.

Do the police in Quesnel respond to fires?
"On March 10th police executed a warrant on the home"

Today is the tenth.

So did they notice the grow op then get a warrant?

If so, then they trespassed and this charge will be tossed.
picky picky....
probably a typo Loki.lol

and yes police can and have responded to fires....to keep lookie loos away and direct traffic...
maybe in this case it seemed suspicious to the fire department and they could have been called in...
Loki you watch too much TV ....
Loki--where is your grow-op??
Is the magic number 1700 pot plants. How many busts have there been with 1700 pot plants.
The Lavington Road is not in a fire protection area (it is about 50 km west of Quesnel), therefore the Police is the only emergency services that would respond to 911 fire call to investigate.
It says the fire was Tuesday, and then today they got the warrant.

And there is nothing wrong with the way they got the warrant.
Who reported the fire????
