It USED to be that the police needed a reason to search you and your property. Soon they will need no reason to stop you or enter your home. Remember the criminals have more rights than the law abiding citizens. Police state here we come.

They do have a reason for stopping you. You are driving a vehicle. Therefore you must have money. If you have money, you can help them with their ticket quota.
Seriously though, it does seem that the crooks have more rights than the rest of us.

I have had death threats and threats and other threats against my family members emailed to me recently through gmail from a professor of economics at Haifa University in Israel... a guy that use to be a member of the US Federal Reserve Board. Real psychopathic extremist spreader of hate that apparently knows what I read. It turns out the RCMP have no jurisdiction to respond to threats like that that emanate from a foreign country and would only investigate a threat like that if they can have your computer... stupidest rational I've ever heard of before. Gmail has nothing to do with my personal computers, and if threats of violence are made from anywhere they should be responded to even if Canada doesn't have authority to arrest those types of people.
To me it seems like every direction the RCMP take these days goes further down the road towards a police state and less towards the direction of protecting citizens from real threats, while also protecting their rights to privacy.

A constable told me they like doing traffic stops because that's how that catch most drug dealers - apparently all they need is a smell or paraphnelia to search further. That's why they don't always write a ticket when you're speeding. This new law is more about giving them a reason to stop more people than it is to do with drunk driving.

Why don't you contact the Israeli police? You can start with their English language web site: http://www.police.gov.il/english.

Bill thanks for the link... I might have to look into it. If I was to write some of the stuff I receive from them I would likely be charged with all sorts of crimes not the least being antisemitism. The guy making the threats might as well be Israels unofficial genocide minister with the ideology he preaches in his public letters from his position of trust and authority in Israeli society. I've seen a lot, but I was shocked at the kind of discourse they pass off in those parts as anything relating to a debate through private communications. Any other country the guy would be in jail a long time ago on multiple charges... much less supported and sanctioned by his state.
My opinion is that when those threats cross international boarders they need to be warned that it is not acceptable and that yes their actions have been noted by authorities (how is it any different than a terrorist threat?)... because it might be the only sober second thought people like that ever get.
I did however report the writers actions to his university administration, so time will tell, but I don't expect much. It just goes to show how bankrupt their ideology is when I receive those kinds of unsolicited emails.
My beef relating to this story above is the idea that one should surrender their computer for an issue that doesn't involve ones computer directly, if any investigation is to take place... like a fishing expedition... no computer handed over no investigation, but hand over the computer and maybe an investigation... but maybe I don't want people reading all my files without my consent.
I have nothing to hide, but its the principle of having someone look through your computer to justify getting cooperation in something completely unrelated. Basically they are saying lets investigate you first in an unrelated way, and if we find nothing then we can look at your complaint. To me that is wrong. It is no different then their new road policy for public harassment of otherwise law abiding citizens.
