Prince George, B.C.- Spring officially arrives this morning at 10:32 .
The vernal equinox  in the Northern Hemisphere occurs when the  Sun crosses directly over the the Earth's equator.
Equinox means "Equal Night" because the Sun is positioned above the equator, day and night are about equal in length all over the world during the equinoxes. A second equinox occurs each year in September.  In 2010, it will be on September 22 at 8:09 P.M. PDT. This date will mark the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere..
According to Environment Canada, there is a 70-80% probability that temperatures  will be above normal this spring, and precipitation will be below normal.
