The propaganda spin is "Things are improving!". Hope those of you who are not working can find a job soon.
Actually, my neighbour who had been on work share for a year is back on full time, and his nephew who had been laid off for a year, is just getting back on.

I think the workshare was a good solution, because, it kept the workers tied to the company and it was better than being totally relying on EI. it gave the working man hope that things will improve. It gave the businesses a opportunity to hang on to more workers with half the volume.

I am sure there will be naysayers, but employers are not obligated to keep you working and loose money.
It's not propaganda, things are getting better. In a resource based community like PG it takes time.
If it comes from government, it is by definition propaganda.
Ya that must be true. It's not like they have experts that crunch these numbers all the time. You're right it's propaganda.
seeing the amount of jobs listed in the job bonk, I am not surprised that the unemploynment fate has gone down. Surprised it has gone down that fast.
Everything goes in cycles. Jobs, economies, house sales and construction, etc. Ya just have to be old to understand and see that.
Why such a positive spin on this story. Stimulus money is being spent and we are not seeing any improvement. Poor job by the governments.
Jobless rate down - welfare rates up!
The EI rate stats go up also when some people only work long enough to qualify ...I know a few of those ..I think people like this should be looked at a little more closely.
If people quit, they cannot get EI.
