Prince George, B.C.- A special announcement to come this morning at the College of New Caledonia. Cabinet Minister Shirley Bond, and Pat Bell will join CNC President John Bowman to make an announcement about a new medical training program.

 

There are hopes the announcement will be about the planned Medical Radiography Technology program. The Province has already pumped about $245 thousand dollars into the planning for such a program and it had been hoped the first 16 students would be able to start their classes at CNC this fall. However, there had been issues about curriculum and establishing clinical placements in time for a September 2010 start. Last November it was announced the program wouldn’t be ready to begin until September 2011.

 

It had been hoped the classes could start this fall so the graduation of the first class would coincide with the planned opening of the new Northern Cancer Care Centre in 2012.
