Nine People Escape Injury In PG Fire

Prince George- Nine people escaped serious injury early this morning in a fire on Diefenbaker Drive.
Fire fighter’s responded to a call at 5.30 this morning to find a duplex on fire. The residents of the duplex were awoken by the sound of fire alarms and a neighbour pounding on the doors.
Firemen were able to confine the blaze to front of the house, garage and the front room on the second floor. Two vehicles in the driveway were also damaged. One resident was taken to hospital were minor smoke inhalation.
Damage is estimated at between 75 and 100,000 dollars.
Firemen again point to the importance of having smoke alarms in your home.
