Nine People Escape Injury In PG Fire

Prince George- Nine people escaped serious injury early this morning in a fire on Diefenbaker Drive.

Fire fighter’s responded to a call at 5.30 this morning to find a duplex on fire. The residents of the duplex were awoken by the sound of fire alarms and a neighbour pounding on the doors.

Firemen were able to confine the blaze to front of the house, garage and the front room on the second floor. Two vehicles in the driveway were also damaged. One resident was taken to hospital were minor smoke inhalation.

Damage is estimated at between 75 and 100,000 dollars.

Firemen again point to the importance of having smoke alarms in your home.

Neighbour pounding on the door.

So the fire alarms were in the house?

And a neighbour knew about the fire before the occupants?

Appear to be very sound sleepers????

as i sit here reading your comment i cant discibe how thourghly dicussed i am with it i chose the name as the neibour because i am that neibour who took the time to get to know some of the people in the neibourhood i agree the kind of people you wouldnt want ot associate with but i will have you know the people in the dwelling that burn this morning were for (1)a retire couple (2)a young relative of that couple (3)a single mother of 3 kids (4)another couple so before you spout off with your mouth you should get the facts straight people like you make me ill what if it happened to you how would you like it so in the future you should mind your own buisness and if you dont have nothing nice to say dont say it

Good work Neibour, Thanks for being a freindly neighbour. Sometimes we find it easier to assume things than to investigate. We think that our comments are being made with anonimity. But really if you google your name, it comes up.

Excellent job Neibour. It's important to get to know the people who live your area to help each other out as you've so obviously have.

I'm often surprised by people who live in an area for 10 years and don't really know their neighbors.

Knowing the people around you is the first step to taking ownership of the area.

the cops are doing a great job in this neighbourhood in the last year,it is improving but it will never be a good neighbourhood to raise ur kids.
