Prince Rupert, B.C. - The Prince Rupert RCMP  have released the name of the  young woman whose body was found on the waterfront in Prince Rupert on the weekend.

The 16 year old  has been identified as Emmalee Rose Mclean of Prince Rupert.

Her  body was discovered partially submerged in water along the waterfront in the 100 block of George Hills Way on Saturday afternoon.  Foul play is not being ruled out at this time and police are treating the death as suspicious.

Police have been in contact with the School Board Office and grief counsellors will be available for students at the two high schools in Prince Rupert today.

Police are working closely with the BC Coroner's Service and an autopsy is expected to take place this week.

Police are encouraging members of the public to contact police if they have information surrounding the death of Mclean or who may have been in or around the 100 block of George Hills Way prior to her body being located.
