Prince George, B.C.- Tonight, The People’s Action Committee for Healthy Air will hold it’s Annual General Meeting and it will be the last meeting as President for Dave Fuller, his three year term is up and a new President will be taking over.
Fuller has had a very busy three years at the helm of PACHA. “I’m surprised at how far we’ve come to the point of industry and government sitting up and taking notice. It shows that a dedicated group of people can make a difference when they put their minds to it.”
Fuller says there are some things on the horizon that will help improve the air quality in Prince George, notably the $122 million dollars from the black liquor green transformation fund which will be used by Canfor to make changes that will result in a 60% reduction in odour as well as reduce fine particulate emissions. “The Ministry of the Environment has really stepped up to do something about air quality as well “ he adds.
Fuller plans to stay on with PACHA’s Board of Directors.
The AGM will take place at the Prince George Public Library from 7-8:30 tonight. In addition to electing a new President, there is a need to fill two Directors positions as Dr. Mark Kubert and Mary Macdonald are stepping down.
Dr. Laurie Cook will be the guest speaker this evening.
