School District 57 Acting Chair Lois Boone says she is disappointed in Prince George City Council's decision to defer dealing with the future of King George V school.
She told the meeting of School District 57 Trustees "It is disappointing but it won't set us back too far, and I am hopeful that in two weeks Council will accept the recommendation from City Staff that the building be demolished". She chuckled as she added "Unless of course the Ministry of Education comes across with millions of dollars to buy KGV."
Trustee Lynn Hall added "It was unfortunate we didn't have the opportunity to present to the Heritage Commission our plan for the site, and hopefully we will have that opportunity soon."
The Heritage Commission is hoping to have a meeting with the Minister of Education, or her designate, within the next two weeks to talk about possible funding options to save the building. Council is set to deal with the issue again in two weeks time.

Hmmmmmm .... So the Ministry will buy a building which its own SD owns?
And for millions of dollars to boot?
Why would the Ministry buy KGV for millions of dollars that the SD will be tearing down since it has no value?
If the building can actually change hands between the SD and the Ministry, I would think that they would "buy" it for a dollar.
