Good morning, another nice spring day ahead. Have a good day.
Talked to a guy form Fraser Lake and he said he hasn't seen the HST petition yet?
Apparently the same for Fort St.James?
Just curious,...anyone seen them in the area west of Prince George?
Some profound web links I've found recently:

Fluoride Worse than We Thought (and yet we still put it in our city water here in PG)
http://www.westonaprice.org/Fluoride-Worse-than-We-Thought.html

Probably the most comprehensive list of the actors behind 9/11 that I've seen. The coincidence is overwhelming IMO, and the implications are profound. You be your own judge on this one... but ask yourself why there has never been a comprehensive investigation of these matters... These people will gladly bring us WW3 IMO.

A beautiful amazing video of nature in the Icelandic volcano eruption.

Nobel Prize-Winning Economist: Federal Reserve System is Corrupt and Undermines Democracy
(just scratching the surface of the corruption that is about to bring down our economy as we know it today)

What fantastic sun rise this morning... its going to be a great day... especially considering its still only April :)

Hopefully I can get down to sign the petition today.. if not tomorrow for sure.
Just heard on the news that Campbell don't care what the outcome of the HST petition is, he is moving forward with it regardless. Hail to the king.
haven't seen the petition South of PG yet, looking forward to signing.
GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Understand that they are still organizing volunteers for canvassing and that they are a little light in areas like Ft St James, and MacKenzie. Not sure what is being done South of town, but this area is responsible for three ridings. 1. PG MacKenzie, 2. PG Valemount 3. Nechako Lakes.

Canvassers are going door to door, however this process takes time. People can sign up at 1705 3rd Avenue as previously stated on this site ie;

Tuesday to Friday 12 Noon to 6 Pm
Saturday 10am to 5pm
Board room downstairs.
Closed Sunday and Monday at this time

I understand that people will also be able to sign up at the Farmers Market this Saturday.

Remember that this whole Provincial Campaign is being handled by volunteers and therefore takes time to organize etc; Going to a sign up centre certainly helps, as opposed to waiting at home for someone to come by.

I suspect that anything that Cam;pbell or any of his co-horts say from now until this process is complete will be puff and stuff. They know that they have a huge problem on their hands and that they will have to deal with it in a responsible manner.
Ever notice that nobody likes change. One will stick with working with a crappy employer, rather than go out looking for a better employer. They stick with them because they are afraid of change. They are afraid of taking a risk of what has become a security blanket, but with thorns.

Hmmmmm, HST.
What a first game!! Canucks for government!?
Thanks for reminding us about the fluoride issue again! Prince George has the dubious distinction of being the last large city in B.C. to medicate drinking water by adding fluoride at the source. B.C. is 96.5% fluoride FREE! Our city council is totally in favour of this stupid practice and refuses to look at the mounting medical evidence that it is very harmful.

On another matter: How much formaldehyde do the huge chip piles at the three pulp mills emit? Does anybody know?

Just a little research shows that all wood as it ages gives off formaldehyde. That includes sawn wood, chips, sawdust, fallen trees, furniture, etc.

Why do these wood piles have to be next to the mills - they can be outside the city limits and the already aged chips trucked in as needed.

Apparently the chips must be allowed to weather before they can be used.

Would appreciate somebody looking into this.
Ever notice that people jump into change too quickly? One will quit working with a decent employer, because another employer dangled a large carrot in front of their nose? Only to find that the new employer was far worse than the previous, and now they can't go back.

Phhhffft, HST.
I do not see anyone calling for a recall!!Bond/Bell in the same boat are they not..what really kills me is that most of youse voted for em!!
The MARIHUANA PARTY for a greener earth!!puff,puff,pass....
HOW ABOUT A RECALL ON DAN ROGERS?!?!? There's a petition i would sign!!! Any other takers?
First things first. Lets deal with this HST petition and then we can move on to Recall etc;. Dan Rodgers and other levels of Government will be watching this petition closely because the message for all levels of Government ie; Federal, Provincial, Regional, and Municipal is **NO MORE TAX INCREASES**

If they dont get the message we have recall, and of course we could form a tax revolt group and just refuse to pay any higher municipal taxes. 3 or 4 hundred people at Councils meetings over a period of time should get their attention.

Here are some of the things that the HST applies on. The list itself has over 70 items, these are just a few. Restaurant meals, Internet, Hockey Tickets, Haircuts, Membership Fees, Bus fares, Airline tickets, Music lessons, Taxies, Massage therapy, Photography, Animal feed, Real estate fees, Accounting fees, Architects, Legal fees, Funeral servides, Helmets, Life jackets, Smoke detectors.

Perhaps someone on this site can give us a list of all the benefits that we are going to receive from the HST. Lets try to be specific so that we can attach a dollar value to it. Vague references to economic benefits over the years are not acceptabe.

Have a nice day.
Sure are a lot of whiners when our dollar creeps up and is now theoretically at par. I never hear about other countries with a strong currency wringing their hands and saying "Woe is us". Is it being Canadian that makes us do this? Being Canadian makes us cringe when it comes to competition. Maybe that's why we settle for three telecom companies as an example. Or the Milk Marketing Board charging us twice the world price and discouraging imports.
Woe is us due to dollar on par is due to the actual cost of production in Canada. We are dependent on having a sub-par dollar because our labor costs all along the production chain are orders of magnitude greater than where other manufactured products come from.

Bitch and whine about Wal-mart et el destroying local small businesses, we did it to ourselves. You can have Canadian Union wages and buy made in china, or we can have a production environment that actually competes on the world market.

No economy is an island, it is a truly synergistic relationship amongst trading parties. If we cannot compete, we will not be competitive or productive in the long haul.

Not sure about the cost, nor the current "state" of the downtown, but the location would certainly be ideal for a lot of folks otherwise.
Lumber is at $314 ....sweeeeet. Keep going!!!!!
I wish I would get a 30 year abatement on my taxes....
That`ll be easy porter.

When Dan gets the 30 year abatement from the City, builds the condos, and you buy one, you will get a 30 year abatement on your taxes on a nice 750sf unit costing $250,000.

Of course, you will have to

- pay $300 per month on condo fees,

- move into a space about half the size your current 30 year old house

- have no garden, just live in a building called `...... gardens``

- breathe in that special downtown air that will mean you will look more like a senior in your senior`s suite as you walk around with your oxygen bottle.
realitycheck ... downtown PG living puts you closer to the airport for those annual trips that take you away to the winter home in the southern USA.

$110,900, 865 sf, condo with community pool ... get cheap US properties before they start going up in price ....
Newly retired - it's a start and Gus, does anything make you happy?
Site C has to be stopped. They need power in the lower mainland. And I know we all do.

I know several people that have lived here before and since the late 50's. The dam that was created at that time totally changed the climate in Prince George and the north. Have you seen the size of the Williston Lake? Almost incomprehensible. We would have to fly over it to realize how large it is. And it wouldn't be a cheap flight. It's huge.

I realize B.C. Hydro sells power to perhaps California and other US states. Perhaps our rates were kept lower because of those sales. OUr water. California needs cooling, we need heat. 8 months of every year.

I have tried to keep myself informed on this issue.

Pay attention to this one. The people that live in Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John have been fighting Site C dam for years. We don't need another dam in Northern B.C. Too many people are displaced. Too much land consumed.

I've also read that if B.C. Hydro upgraded the turbines on the Peace Dam, another dam wouldn't be necessary. We never hear anything about the Mica Dam.

There are tons of creeks and rivers in the lower mainland in the mountainous regions. The politicians are afraid to create the exact climate change that Prince George and surrounding areas are enduring.
Opinion 250 friends, pay close attention to this one. It's huge.

We have to join our neighbours in Fort St. John, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, McLeod Lake in a protest.
Site C must not happen while we're paying a "Carbon Tax". ???

Interesting hoopla on the Site C Dam going ahead.
It was mentioned that this is going to cost B.C.Hydro billions.
So could that have factored into the 33% percent increase we are going to get whacked with for hydro?
I am sure it did, because they didn't just decide to go ahead with the project yesterday!
They have known about this for quite a while...and so has the Campbell government.
Kinda like the HST I think!
Is this government ever up front about anything?
We are paying more for hydro to pay for all the run of the river and windmill projects that are run by liberal hacks and has-beens. The only thing that keeps power in BC relatively cheap is our hydro power. My guess is that Site C will be cancelled by the Liberals in order to keep their friends busy selling us expensive so-called 'green' power. Get ready to bend over again.
If Site C does go ahead it WON'T be mainly because WE need more power, but because Gordon Campbell needs another mega-project to re-create the 'inflation' he represents to us as 'prosperity'. It's a cruel illusion.

The Olympics are done, with nothing left to show for them on the books of the government other than the debt they incurred to pay the bills. A debt they can't ever pay, except through creating a larger debt, for the next mega-project. Ad infinitum.

Wonderful for those who like mega-projects, some of which are actually useful, sometimes.

But even so, how many times over do we want to pay for any of them? We've already done so once with the Olympics, through the rise in prices they engendered. And now we're to do it again, and again, and....

The HST is the icing on the cake that will be used to induce the Banks to lend him the money ~ the proof that his government is 'credit worthy'. That it can wring enough extra tribute from the peasantry to ensure the interest payments will always be current. When they can't be, which won't be long in the future, there'll be still more taxes on top of what we'll already be paying.

We're going to get the same from whomever replaces Campbell, whether it's as head of another Liberal government, or we have a change of government, and the NDP or any of the other Parties get in. Unless we stick together, and make a stand on "NO NEW TAXES". Starting with the HST. All it takes is your signature on that Petition. Please, if you are concerned about the way we're literally being taxed to death, make the effort to sign.
