City Councillor Garth Frizzell reaches to pick up garbage at Millennium Park
Prince George, B.C.- This Sunday, it is time once again to get involved in the annual spring clean up of the City.
Prince George Mayor Dan Rogers says he wants to build the mantra “Clean to the Core”. While the City recently launched a downtown clean up crew, the Sunday event is a volunteer effort with free bags provided to those who would like them. The event is slated from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The R.E.A.P.S. office will provide the bags, just call ahead and they will make sure they have them all ready for you to pick up at their Gorse Street office ( 1950 Gorse). The number to call is 250-561-7327.

The City has set up several collection points for bags of litter to be dropped:
-
5th and Killoren
-
Ospika-Andres Road
-
3rd and Watrous
-
2nd and George
-
College Heights Secondary
-
Parkridge Heights (Bunce Road and Park Drive)
-
Hudson’s Bay Slough on Queensway.
North of the Nechako River residents are encouraged to take the litter to the Foothills landfill site, or, failing that, bags can be left on the side of the road and City Crews will pick them up. “I will have staff out patrolling the whole City on Sunday” says Sean LeBrun, Supervisor of Parks and Solid Waste Services for the City of Prince George.
You can call pre-register your participation (although not necessary) at www.pitch-in.ca
Mayor Rogers says the City wants to thank all the groups which have already been out trying to clean up the roadsides and trails “We are eager to look at partnerships to clean up our community.”
