Prince George North MLA and Minister of Agriculture and Lands, Pat Bell, is hosting the  4th annual B.C. Natural Resource Forum and Trade Show  at the Civic Centre today and tomorrow.

As Prince George, and other like communities look for avenues in which to diversify economies that have depended on forestry, discussions over the two days will provide some food for thought.  Representatives from energy, agriculture and mining prepared to talk about careers and opportunities.

The sessions start this morning  at 11:00 with a presentation by Grand Chief Ed John and Tom Christensen, the Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, talking about  the New Relationship with Aboriginal Peoples.

All forum sessions are open to the public and admission is free.

Complete information on the  two day forum can be obtained by  visiting www.bcnaturalresourceforum.com

I hear Pat is going to give a speech on how the Goverment can take your house, land, farm, and health, if they need what is under it,Or just sell it to anyone they want,REMEMBER YOU DO NOT HAVE PROPERTY RIGHTS IN CANADA...UNLESS YOU ARE A RICH COMPANY.
This is really starting to look like goverment and First Nations, dam I hate those words, having a dance session. Sort of you scratch my back and maybe we will do someting for you.....I wonder. Of course, In my opinion,Bell is going to say exactly what Gordon Campbell tells him too, as it has been from the beginning and will be until the end, especially if he wants to keep his job.
I don't know if I am missing something but we are a resource rich province and we should capitalize on it when we can.The last few years have been very positive and we should all be greatfull because it was pretty scary for sometime.I don't agree with this Australian Ranch deal however.
Thanks for the warning donnie. i bet they take people's houses all the time too eh bud? Think not. I do however in my estimation believe Pat bell missed his calling. Anyone think he looks like a cop?

later...........
Rather than complaining about everything, I believe it would be in all of our best interests to sit up and pay attention to some of the opportunities the Government and BIG Business are trying to offer us. Quit slamming them and start to work with them.

We are currently being offered opportunities to diversify our local economy.

I think the timing of the development of energy, agriculture and mining in our province is now.

If you don't work or you don't want anyone else to work, I understand your view. But, there are those of us who prefer to provide a days work for a days pay.

I am so tired of continually hearing from those doom and gloom people who only can give us all of the reasons to keep from doing something.

Get involved or get out of the way. Percy
