Debris scattered over property that was once the rear shop at Eric's World of Leisure on Quebec Street
Prince George, B.C. – The fire which destroyed Eric’s World of Leisure at First and Quebec Streets Friday night, was caused accidentally.
Fire officials say there had been a gasoline spill in the shop at the rear of the store earlier in the day. The owner, Eric Moore, told officials he was trying to remove a piece of flooring to make a repair, and it’s believed the saw blade came in contact with the concrete causing a spark and igniting the remnants of the gasoline spill.
The damage estimate from the fire is well over a million dollars. Eric’s World of Leisure plans to re-open in the Chee Duck Tong building at 2nd and Brunswick as a temporary site.
