Prince George, B.C.-  Another two grow ops have  been busted by Prince George RCMP.

On April 19th, around 8:30 p.m. RCMP were called to help the Prince George Fire Department regarding a structure fire on Red Rock Road West.  The fire had been caused by a diesel generator.  The investigation lead to the discovery of  a sophisticated marijuana grow op on the property.  Police seized 7,000 plants worth millions of dollars on the street.  Police had to use a 5 ton truck to  transport the plants.  That investigation is on going.

Yesterday morning, officers were called to a residence on Wild Rose Road (off Chief Lake Road) for a complaint of a suspicious occurrence.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a marijuana grow op.  They then got a search warrant and seized about 2500 plants in various stages of growth and 2 pounds of dried bud ready for distribution.   Police say they also found evidence of a hydro bypass.

An adult male and female have been arrested and face possible charges of  theft of hydro  and the production of  cannabis

More of a penalty swiping hydro than growing pot. Betcha. And the day after not arresting those darn pot smokers during their demonstrations. What a country.
The one in Red Rock was not the Prince George Fire Department. It was Red Rock and Buckhorn Volunteer Fire Departments.
What in the world are you guys doi'n. Jeez, raising the price like that, putting them there OC guys out of business.Man you're hurt'in these people in the wallet, in the bank account. They renting these rural properties from LMD or gawd knows where?
You just keep beating up on them, I don't mind one bit, and if I find out who you are, you might just end up having a beer on me. Just remember folks, every time you get yer lil ol bag of weed, yer jes helping the Hells Idiots or maybe some silly offshoot up here.
Well done members, keep it up. Oh, thanks fire guys, you're Number One.
So when does the 'crack'down blitz start on meth and cocaine? They cops have shown that they are adept at busting the illicit agricultural operations, and how much of that is based on the "possible theft of hydro"? Obviously they are targeting the serious grow ops and I think that is a good start, but I would like to see more emphasis on the trade of the harsher, more addictive illicit substances.
metalman.
Seize the properties too.
metalman, if you have any information on active meth labs or cocaine stashes, I'm sure the cops would be interested in it.
Sadly MrPG, that is the only way they will find anything. CSI is a tv show that takes liberties with technical capabilities. The IRL police have to do real detective work and in PG, it seems that they are more concerned with enforcing traffic regulations than doing the "real" police work of investigation.

We know where the local clubhouses are. Many of the most prolific hard candy distributors are "well known to police".
I don't understand why they refuse to close down at least the most harmful segment of the recreational drug trade instead of relying on falling over a ditch weed plantation.
It's a balance. Police are required to play by a certain set of rules. I'm sure they know where the operations are. But due process must be followed in order to execute search warrants, etc.

The people who run the local 'clubhouses' aren't stupid and likely have measures in place should the cops come knocking.

Tips from the public are one aspect of where police get their information from, and there are other sources as well.
