Prince George, B.C. – The College of New Caledonia has announced it is joining forces with BCIT, Northern Lights College, Northwest Community College and School District 91 in offering a mining technology program.
The program will be offered on line for the first year and students would be required to take the second year of classes at the BCIT campus. It is hoped that eventually the program will be offered in full at the CNC campus.
The program hopes to capitalize on the need for trained workers for an industry that will need to attract 15 thousand new employees over the next decade.
The first class will start in September of 2011 and will accept 25 students.
