Corey Parsons Goes To Germany
By 250 Sports
Prince George - A British Columbia baseball player made a successful pitch for a pro career from a mound in Prince George. When Corey Parsons pulled on the No. 12 jersey for Team BC and took the hill at the 2009 'Enbridge Northern Gateway' World Baseball Challenge, he didn't realize he was also auditioning for the next level in his career.
"After playing in the WBC, I have been given the opportunity to go to Germany and play professionally over there, which should be another great experience for me," Parsons told tournament organizers, and the world, via a message he left in the Feedback category on the WBC website. Parsons has signed with the Hamburg Stealers in the German Bundesliga and leaves this week.
