Prince George- One short hour is all it took to sell out the CN center for Elton John who makes an appearance at the CN Center on July 16th

In spite of the cost of the tickets, they were scooped up from all across North America in less than an hour.

This is one of smallest venues, 6000,  that Elton John will play on his tour.

As of 1.10pm. This afternoon scalpers were already offering some choice tickets at $900.00 to see the show.

I'd believe it. It was hard to get tickets even ten minutes after they went on sale.
Watch out for scams folks, I'm sure some people will get caught buying fake tickets and the like. Be careful.
Somethings wrong... I was on line ready to go at the moment they were available and unable to get after trying 45 minutes. Obviously there was insider sales along for this and now watch the resellers try to rape the public that tried honestly to buy a ticket.
I know alot of people and not one person was able to get access to tickets.
If there is a secret to buying before the public start please let me know for future referrence.
"I was on line ready to go at the moment they were available and unable to get after trying 45 minutes. "

Based on past experience, I can tell you that it's luck of the draw. When that many people are trying to get tickets at exactly the same time, some will get them and some won't.

As far as scalpers go, I wouldn't pay an inflated price, but some people would. Viva capitalism!

And yes, as NMG said, watch for scams. Don't exchange money without seeing the actual tickets if purchasing on the secondary market, cragslist, etc. eBay could be a risk as well, depending on the reputation of the seller.
I'd like to know what the $16 dollar "fee" is for? Isn't the price of the ticket fee enough?
The $16 is tacked on by ticketmaster, presumably to keep people employed and their website running, as well as other items like advertising. Yes, it's high.
Like MrPG said, allot of it is luck. There would have been loads of people trying to get in at the same time and there is only so much capacity in the system. My wife got tickets and we know many others who did, so it's not a scam or anything like that. Same thing happened with Cougar playoff tickets like 100 years ago or whenever it was that they actually gave two cents about putting a decent package on the ice :)
YA, I got mine!!!
booo hoooo hoooo for me, I didn't get any tickets, so I will be the one sitting outside the cn centre with my bottle of wine listening anyhow!! LOL

and I WILL NOT be buying any tickets that the freakin scalpers bought and have them jacked up to over double the original cost, I wish no one would buy from them and they would be stuck with tickets for a show they don't even wanna see and out all that money!! maggots!!!
I have talked to five friends who were all trying to get tickets this morning. Four out of five were successful so I dont think there is any big conspiracy going on.
I have never scalped nor do I plan on it, I have however bought from a scalper before. I do find it amazing that if you buy a house or a car or a can of beer or any other widget for a price, then do nothing with it, but, sell it for a higher price you are a smart business person; do it with a concert ticket and you are scum.
@MrPG - and the fee covers kickbacks to the City - facilities charge. I bet most people don't know about that.

"The venue gets a kickback for sure..."

if you want tickets don't check out ebay!! BS for people OUT OF COUNTRY to be able to by as many as they have and jack up the price's!! This is PG I really Hope those people that bought those ticket's get stuck with them!!!
I did get my tickets, but just thinking that even people back east buying tickets and jacking the prices is just stupid, and a whole lot of other words. I can see it for a big centre, but this is a "small" centre with Elton name attached to it...
"if you want tickets don't check out ebay!! BS for people OUT OF COUNTRY "

Um, ebay.ca works just fine.

And despite your 'well wishes', many people will profit from Elton tickets. It's already happening.
I heard people could pre-register for $40 and get their tickets early. We had no luck with phones or the internet and tried right from 10:00 onwards. Oh well...have fun to the ones who were lucky enough to get them!

There's no secret, I logged on and at ten o'clock got tickets with no problem at all.

Not talking about you Free Enterprise, but I have no sympathy for people who wanted to go but weren't ready to buy when they went on sale. Scalpers aren't making you buy tickets off them, so if you're not interested in buying from them, don't. Otherwise, don't comment on how others get theirs. The market will set its price.
With the price of the tickets, one wonders if these are the same folks signing the anti-HST petition. Life is full of contradictions, ain't it?
I did get tickets online but you'd think they could design the system so that the locals would have first pick...
Logged in right away, and after 30 seconds, was told they were sold out! Friends who phoned in got tickets.

Oh well - we saw him in Edmonton a couple of years ago. It was a great concert.
Totally luck of the draw I guess. I got mine, but a couple of friends did not. We all logged on at exactly 10am.
I totally didn't get any!!!!!!!!!

Oh, wait, I didn't even try......

Uggghhhhhh

Had to listen to enough of this stuff growing up, chose not to now!
I was on line right at ten, nothing at all! for an hour. There must be a trick to it or something. We've been to lots of concerts big name ones and no problem getting tickets, I know the venues were bigger but wow not one ticket available in an hour of punching in those stupid words a person could hardly make out.
By the way...how do these scalpers get all the tickets?
I'm so glad that we will be on holidays at this time and out of town. If not I would want to go so badly and the stress of getting tickets would likely kill me! Have fun everyoe, I still thinks a trick, and it will announced that he isn't actually coming! heehee kidding.wow Sir Elton John coming to our little city! Amazing! Love it!

If you are really wanting a ticket you can get them online at TicketsNow. At present there are 280 available, ranging from $211 to $610.

This site is owned and operated by TicketMaster so be warned that they will "fee" you again. They are double dipping the service fees for tickets. Once when they were first purchased and again on the resale.
who cares!
pgguru: "who cares!"

You cared enough to make a comment. If you didn't care, why did you click on the link?

acrider: "I was on line right at ten, nothing at all! for an hour. There must be a trick to it or something."

No trick. Do the math. 50000 people try to get 5000 tickets at the same time. Many will be disappointed.

There are ticaets available (ebay, ticaetsnow) if people really want to go. But expect to pay a premium.
I dunno what the fuss is. There is going to be a whole lot of dissapointed PG folks when they find out Sir Elton doesn't have a fiddle in the band and doesn't play country and western.
