Man Accused in Incident with 14 Year Old

Quesnel, B.C. – A 49 year old man is facing charges after a 14 year old girl was propositioned.

Quesnel RCMP say the girl was at the Quesnel library when a man approached her and offered to take her back to his van.

The girl informed library staff who called police. An arrest was made.

The suspect, David Raymond Couture has been charged with invitation to sexual touching and possession of a controlled substance. He has appeared in court and will be released pending bail and conditions set by the Provincial Court. The conditions include:

· Must not have any contact with children under the age of 16

· Not to be anywhere where children under the age of 17 would be including public parks, school grounds, day cares and recreational centre.

· Not to be in Quesnel, or Williams Lake

· Not to possess drugs, alcohol or weapons.

Police say he is known to drive an older model grey camper van . He has brown hair, blue eyes and is of medium build.

He is required to return to Quesnel for Court on June 8^th.

Stay out of court. You have no assurance justice will be served. They are more concerned about the rights and protection of the criminals than the victims who were violated. Such a sad, sad situation. We have allowed our appointed judges to determine the rules they operate by, without accountability to anyone. Why would we give them such authority?

So here we go again, we wait until he actually does something before we get him off the streets, when are we going to buckle down and make an example of these guys? Predators will think twice if they hear about the other guy getting put in a cell with bubba until his hearing...or better yet, first offence...one testicle, second offence...you get the picture.
