Prince George, B.C.- A woman and her three young children escaped major injury  this afternoon when their  Grand Am and a PT Cruiser collided.

According to RCMP,  the  Grand Am was heading northbound on Victoria Street just after 1:00 this afternoon when a Grey P.T. Cruiser  crossed the Grand Am's path at 9th Avenue.

Both vehicles  sustained extensive damage and  had to be towed from the scene.  Police say all  occupants of the  two vehicles were wearing seatbelts, so  no one was hurt.

The driver of the PT Cruiser  may be charged with failing to  yield to oncoming traffic.

Yikes, my wife drives a grand am.
so maybe you should call your wife before commenting one the article
maybe people should learn how to drive
be nice
There are a lot of peoples wives that drive Grand Am's. Are they or their Grand Am's special?
Victoria Street does not have enough traffic lights in the area between 1st and 15th Ave. With the cars that park along the street, they prohibit drivers from the streets at 90 degree angles to see properly onto Victoria St for oncoming traffic. Many times its like running a gauntlet.
Put a light at every intersection and time them so you stop at everyone of them, that would work. Then the air fairy could get you for idling you vehicle too much.
I disagree Imorge. I am out here, on the roads 10 to 12 hours a shift. The majority of drivers in this City should have their driving privileges suspended. Some, for ever! Most should be retested. If anyone wants to suggest I should be re-tested, bring it on. I have no problem with that, I am very proud of my driving skills. That is not to say that I don't mess up on occasion, but I do try my best to drive within the laws, and always respect my fellow drivers.

I didn't witness this accident, but I would take a wild guess, and say that PT Cruiser was on her/his cell phone (NO BLUE TOOTH). Check everyone concerned, including cell phone records.

This new law about not being able to talk on cell phones when you are driving, has made very little difference. Morons continue to talk on their cell phones without the assistance of a hands free devices, as Cops continue to eat doughnuts, and it goes around, and around, and around!( I must say, I have seen a way better Police present out on the roads in recent months)

Maybe I am a little more vigilant about this subject than others, but I am here to tell you, that there is still a really BIG problem with people talking on their cell phones without a hands free device while driving.

I never was one to talk on my cell while I was driving. Call display was good enough for me. As soon as I could get pulled over, I would return the call.

You idiots know who you are, you are the same ones, that couldn't chew bubble gum in school and walk at the same time! But yet now, you think you can do all these other activities while driving. I've seen guys shaving, talking on a cell phone, and drinking a Timmy's, and trying to drive! I've seen women putting on makeup, curling their hair, plucking their eye brows, drinking a Timmy's, and changing their clothes. No exaggeration!!!

With all the technology we have today, there should be cell phone blockers installed in all cars. If you are inside your vehicle, your cell phone will not work. Come on already, I came from a generation where we didn't even have answering machines. If we phoned somebody, we might get the neighbour. We were on a party line. Everybody could listen in on everyone else's conversations. If nobody answered, you phoned back later. We were always able to get in touch with our friends on a Saturday night.

Today, everybody thinks they have this right of "entitlement"! They think they are entitled to do this, that, and the other thing. That may be so, but they are not entitled to endanger me or my family, by their careless actions, while pursuing their own selfish goals.

People today, for the most part, don't want to be inconvenienced. These same people that don't want to be inconvenienced, are willing to inconvenience everybody else in their path, just so they aren't inconvenienced. How bloody selfish.

It is nice to be IMPORTANT, but it is more IMPORTANT to be nice!

Get off your PHONES, and DRIVE people!

Taxi

tell us how you really feel.
I know that intersection of Victoria and 9th Ave, and it is a nasty one. It's terrible for both vehicles AND pedestrians trying to get across.

I live in that area and I don't even bother trying anymore. I drive two blocks the other way to 7th and Victoria as there is a controlled light on that intersection.
