Fort St. John, B.C.- On May 2, 2010 Search and Rescue personnel from Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge, in partnership with RCMP members from Dawson Creek and Fort St. John resumed their search for the body of Dwight Middleton.  His vehicle had been  located near a well site off of highway 52  in late February of this year.

On Sunday, approximately twenty volunteers conducted an expanded search of the area around where his  vehicle had been located.  The body of an adult male was located approximately two hundred metres from the well site. Investigators believe that this is the body of Dwight Middleton and will be conducting further examination in order to confirm his identity.

Dwight Middleton's family has been advised of the discovery and are requesting privacy during this difficult time.

RCMP  are offering  their thanks to all who dedicated their time volunteering with Search and Rescue. They gave up numerous days of their own time in order to assist with several different searches of this area since February. In addition to searching from the ground, pilots with CASARA, volunteered their planes and personal time to conduct aerial searches. The dedicated efforts of Search and Rescue volunteers and their tireless search of the area was paramount in locating Mr. Middleton.

These organizations are supported through donations and gaming grants. The gaming grants have been taken away this year.

Please support your local PGSAR, you may need them 1 day. This year they are trying to refresh the building on the hart highway, so flooring and paint would be helpful.
RIP Dwight......
My sincerest condolences to his family.
I agree, support for S.A.R. is important.
Too bad the government cannot see that.
Money from gambling is exactly how they should be funding this, and many other important programs.
