Premier Gordon Campbell has reinstated Vancouver-Fraserview MLA Kash Heed as B.C.'s Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General.

"Kash Heed has dedicated his career to public service and has acted in the best interest of his constituents," said Premier Campbell. "His commitment to the duties and responsibilities of Solicitor General were paramount last month when he stepped aside. I am sure this has
been difficult both for Kash Heed and his family. I am pleased that this has been resolved quickly and I am pleased to re-appoint him as Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General."

The re-appointment follows the completion of a report by Special Prosecutor Terrance Robertson, Q.C. into alleged Election Act violations in which the Special Prosecutor fully exonerated Heed.

A statement released by the Criminal Justice Branch states:

"On the evidence presented to the Special Prosecutor, there is no evidence that Mr. Heed was either involved in the production of the pamphlets or had direct knowledge of the pamphlets or the allegedly fraudulent [advertising sponsor form]."

It goes on to state: "On the evidence presented to the Special Prosecutor, there is nothing to show that Kash Heed had any personal knowledge that the election financing report was false."

The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General is responsible for police and correctional services, emergency management, crime prevention programs, victim assistance, consumer services and the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles.

As I expected.
Going to be some serious hollering over this one!
Campbell really doesn't give a damn what the voters of B.C.thinks!
Yes, there will be the naysayers, seems to be a lot on here. But I for one, want to see this man succeed. He has integrity and until he loses it, I'll stand up for him. He's done a lot of damn good work in the past, lets hope he continues. He's a good man.
Won't matter, the Liberals are out next election.
Yuh know something? I gotta funny feel'in in my young bones, they're gonna be around for a few years to come.
Please don't send in the NDP, say they're for the workers then make them strike.......
Special Prosecutor Terrance Robertson has resigned now that Heed has been cut free. Bit of a conflict of interest seeing as his law firm donated to Heed's campaign...and the dark sid eof Campbell and his liberals goes on...
Heed I think you are as guilty as sin...regardless what Campbell says...How could you not know what was going on in or around your campaign office?
I just can't believe the amount of controversy the liberal MLA's can surround themselves with, and this stuff just seems to evaporate and is forgotten about.A lot of people respond by saying, just wait their day is coming, but I cannot see it happening. If a boss such as Gorden Campbell can be so hated, and still remain in charge and in government through all this,it is mind boggling. Some people such as Gorden Campbell just have a gift for anything of wrong doing sticking to them,it really speaks volumes as to the sad state of affairs that our society is in today.I mean the special prosecutor clears this man of any wrongdoing, and then resigns, because he made a $1000.00 political contribution to his campaign.Always something fishy surrounding those liberals.
Apparently "you are known by the company you keep". All his electioneering pals and quislings always at arms length due to advice by a lawyer? Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
Can't tell me Heed didn't know what his campaign manager was up to.
Oh how lucky for Campbell, he gets to keep his slime on the tax payers payroll. Every week there is something new about corupt liberals. So often it is now the norm. Sit very still sheeple.
....And who appointed the special prosecutor? Gordon Campbell???? Whoops!
Campbell showed the same judgement here as he did in Hawaii.
Unfortunately I agree with Slim2229 that the Liberals will be around for while yet.
They'll replace Campbell, put in a high profile person like Carol Taylor (who isn't brushed with the stink of this crowd), hand out a few goodies, dish up a few promises (like no HST) and once in, to H*** with the voting public.
I think Mr heed is one of the very few politicians with ethics. He immediately recused himself when the issue presented itself. It is "almost" a shame that he is with the lieberals, but thankfully our ruling party has him to keep things in check.
