Prince George, B.C. – The April stats for housing starts show an improvement over the same period last year.
 
In Prince George, April saw a doubling of the number of starts for single detached homes. There were 9 multiple family units started last month compared to April of last year.
Year to date the overall increase is 184.6%.
 
Provincial home starts in urban areas rose to 25,600 units, seasonally adjusted at annual rates (SAAR) in April, from 22,000 in March. At the national level, total housing starts reached 201,700 units SAAR in April from 199,200 units a month prior.

Yes, Prince George is quietly busy.
Hmmmm ... Prince George total starts increased by 184% over last year. Nanaimo only did 42%, Kamloops 88%, etc.

Sounds impressive, until you look at the actual starts for the similar sized cities - 37, 303, and 211.

Percentages can make the inimpressive seem impressive.
How do you calculate percentage change, from zero to nine.
