More Road Work Today

Prince George, BC- Two more road rehabilitation projects are set to get underway in Prince George.
 
Pacific Street improvement work is scheduled to start today. Pacific Street road rehabilitation consists of 1.00 lane km’s of improvement work from 200 meters North of Sintich Road to 700 meters North of Sintich Road.
The Pacific Street Road Rehabilitation Project, totaling $85,000, is slated to be complete  by the end of the day.
Additionally, to minimize disruption to businesses, Quinn Street improvement work will start this Sunday. This work will include 0.788 lane km’s of rehabilitation work from 18th Ave. to 22nd Ave. The $111,000 project will be completed in one day.

It would be nice to see the City spending more on this road. Anyone who drives it knows how treacherous it can be. Big trucks, little trucks & cars swerving around potholes, all at high speeds. It needs to be widened for the full length of it. Property owners out that way pay city taxes so they should get city services, including safe roads. The detour route they used today was a joke. There were cones in potholes in the middle of the road.
Are the prices being charged for these paving jobs realistic?? $85,000 for 500 meters of road seems like a bit much?? Is this work being done by city crews or are they using for profit contractors??
