The cell phone is easily tracked if it is on, hopefully the police will think of this and get Telus on board with doing it.
He didnt get the licence plate number?
come on loonieguy - too many episodes of CSI under your belt. Its not a homing device that you can just ping and zero in on. If it was that easy then Im pretty sure the police would have a handle on it...
Wrong interceptor. If its on and near a tower then the service provider can triangulate a position to within 5 meters.
lunarguy, lmorge

just a silly question, but wouldnt you need to know who the suspects are to get their cell phone number in order to track it?

If they know who they are, why bother tracking it, just go to their homes.
I think someone needs to re-read the story, they STOLE the cell phone. I think the kid that had the phone stolen from knows his/her own phone number!!
Sounds like a wanna-be gang trying to establish their turf. They also painted a few fences in the same neighborhood with their "marks".
Could these punks be the ones who are spray painting people's cars?
metalman.
Next Time you are out and about, see how many License Plates you can't read ? No Time to clean, no Money to pay ICBC ?
