Scott Scholfield and Terry Teegee chat with NDP leader Carole James
Prince George, B.C.- A group, made up of mostly New Democrat supporters, showed up at the Africa Café this morning in Prince George to have coffee with provincial NDP leader Carole James.
James has been touring the communities along Highway 16 meeting with residents to hear their concerns.
“These people are still very angry with the HST” says James. She says the Provincial government should bring the matter to the Legislature and defeat the planned change sooner rather than later. “It should be done before the next election is called” says James.
She says people are also concerned about the challenge facing the north “You know, this region felt the impact of the recession long before the lower mainland, these people don’t want a hand out, they want a hand up.”
