50 Firefighters Fight Greer Creek Forest Fire

Vanderhoof - The 880 hectare fire burning in the Greer creek area  is  located 28 kilometres south west of Vanderhoof and not,  as has been reported by the Ministry of Forests Fire information Office, as being 20km east of Vanderhoof.

The fire was reported to have started on Friday. Opinion250 received a call from someone identifying themselves as from the branch saying that the fire was not human caused. We informed them that this information was taken from their web site. That has been corrected. The location of the fire has not been changed up until 8.30 am. Sunday.

A total of nearly fifty people two air tankers and two Helicopters are fighting the blaze which can be seen from the Vanderhoof area.
