Prince George, B.C. - The Ministry of Environment has continued the Air Quality Advisory for Prince George because of forest fire smoke that is affecting some areas.

Smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change. This condition is expected to persist until Thursday.

4:00 pm Tuesday going north on hwy 97 just before intersection of austin road, pittman ashphalt had a bobcat with rotary brush on the front sweeping the side of the highway. The dust cloud was so intense i could not see past it and had to idle my vehicle past it so i could find the road. Is finishing the construction the priority, Or Air quality.
That is simple. BOTH!!!! As well as quality of the work!!!

Anyone with a bit of practical experience can tell you that wetting down the material first will mean less material in the air and more material in the sweeper bucket.
So all this smoke from a fire 130km away to the East up the Nechako valley... but we are told that the best air quality location for heavy industrial in the city is... you heard it just up the Nechako Valley (where our water and clean air come from).

In the Hart anyways the air almost always blows in from the west to the north east... probably 95% of the time judging by the way the flag blows.

It would be interesting to see the studies they did to show that the best place for industrial land for air quality is up the Nechako Valley. I bet the most scientific part of the report was where vested interests wanted heavy industrial development... otherwise why all the smoke in town?
You got that right Eagleone.
Air Quality Advisory - does that mean free bus rides? If so, is the $0.25 increase in Sept. related to the free rides. Too many Air Quality Advisory days which means too many free rides, got to recover the cost some how I guess
