Crews Make Progress on Greer Creek Blaze

Prince George, B.C.- While the Greer Creek fire grew to 6,102.0 hectares overnight, the crews now say they have it 40% contained.
The evacuation alert remains in effect for residents south of Nulki Lake.
There are 251 people working on this fire, that number includes 124 firefighters, 8 helicopter pilots, the operators of 44 pieces of heavy equipment and support staff.
Crews will continue to build fuel-free guard lines today, and will burn off from these lines to secure them when conditions allow.
