May you have a safe and enjoyable weekend.

It's great to be Canadian!
In order to be a great Canadie-an you need to be TAXED! So happy HST Day!
Oh, and I worked today and got time and a half. Got paid twelve bucks an hour! Whooo Hooo! Glad to be Canadian!
The ‘Box’ of what it means to be Canadian is being radically defined, and yet we have a political class of leadership that is so devoid of a sense of our own history and the virtues that made Canada great as a sovereign nation and as a nation that upholds the individuals dignity… that we are essentially surrendering our country to a mostly hidden foreign dynastic oligarchy that controls our money supply, or market values, our political machinery, our MSM, and right down to thought police and the size of your campfire.

Canada historically during the two world wars… Canada used its geopolitical power and influence through our essential service on the winning side of those wars, protecting Great Britain from tyranny, we through Canadian efforts led the way to a new world order of sovereign nation states throughout the world, beyond even the British Commonwealth, and we led the way to the new norm for nation states to be based on their respect for their citizens whether or not the citizens were under the authority of, or masters of their governments.

Some will say Canada is a small insignificant country and discount this claim, but those people simply haven’t studied their own history. There can be no doubt that the world we live in today was as a result of the British Empire being devolved to a Commonwealth of independent nations from the colonies they were before. There can be no doubt that in Britain it was Canada that had increasing influence (Vimy Ridge for example) as Canadian war efforts were essential to Britain’s very survival, and that it was the Canadian influence that led to the wording in legislation that gave rise to national sovereignty in the Commonwealth states. This played a role in the creation of the UN and its founding on the basis of recognizing the sovereignty of nation state members. Canada was always a leader in this regard advancing the notion of national sovereignty and individual rights within the rule of law… and its in large part what made Canada great.

Recently however we have taken a different objective and this new objective hasn’t been communicated with the people of Canada, much less campaigned and voted on by the sovereign citizens of Canada. What is happening as policy now goes against all the history of Canada and through trickery of the ‘system’ rather than open to daylight honest discussions about what this new vision for Canada is going to be. This is important for a country like Canada that owes its right to exist based on our historical virtues, and so to take a new course with new virtues entails new risks that can be multiplied in ways we haven’t even considered… especially these things are not considered if they are not out in the open for those that are not partisans to the agenda having a chance to see for themselves the merits of the new direction.

Earlier in the year in Davos, the world economic forum last January, Harper brought up a new terminology, as host to the next G-20 Harper was the Chairman for the next G-20 and therefore was setting the stage for what the debate would be about. Harper took this opportunity to call for a new ‘enlightened sovereignty’… claiming that would be the central issue of the upcoming G-20 meeting… also claimed that he was involved in creating what he christened ‘The Framework’ to subject national economic systems to international review. Most Canadians would have no idea what Harper is talking about. Presumably a naïve person would hope that he means mankind would give up the trait of animosity and be their brothers keeper… but those would be the naïve that would believe that is even possible, much less Harpers agenda.

Now in closing comments at the G-20 this week Harper comes out and lectures that Canada has no national economy… this coming from a guy that once claimed Alberta should have a firewall around it (when it was politically expedient to say so). Now as Harper sees it Canada’s need to be told we don’t have a national economy and that the only way ahead is enlightened sovereignty.

Enlightened sovereignty one needs to understand is not a sovereignty of the people. Harpers prior claims to represent citizens and democracy would take a back seat to enlightened sovereignty… no different than his indifference to the HST opposition when his corporate sponsors say it will be so….

Enlightened sovereignty is essentially global oligarchy of the financial elite… the same financial elite that take communism and fascism to their close cousin extremes for the same end of total control by a small elite. It is the furthest thing from conservative in value, and yet it is brought to us by a ‘conservative leader’.

Enlightened sovereignty is about central bankers that print money and manipulate markets with hidden accounts, computer trading programs, and unregulated derivative (zero risk leverage casino market forces). Its about putting in the infrastructure of law to allow these middle managers of the financial transaction process to take complete control over sovereign national society by becoming the essential intermediary to all commerce… so that even when the enlightened trans-national financial bankers fail they never lose because they have a monopoly over the transactions of commerce that sustain their power structure.

Enlightened sovereignty is about giving control of our national sovereignty over to unelected foreign bureaucrats over all aspects of our nation for a general good that is not defined by Canadians, but rather by these unelected people we will have to trust and hope they will have our best interests in mind. It is akin to the globalist governance plan developed by the UN called Action 21 from the financial perspective. Harper is the inside guy to bring Canada along through his advocating Canada’s support for Action 21 plan through the euphemism of ‘enlightened sovereignty’ brought on by the necessity of global economic circumstances (neglecting to mention it was the bankers that created these problems in the first place and bailing them out with more powers only rewards criminals for negligent behaviour).

So Harper wants enlightened sovereignty to replace national sovereignty, because he now believes we no longer have a national economy and that the greatest economic efficiency comes from specializing in raw resource extraction and not a value added sustainable economy.
Opps, continued... :)

Then on the geo-political front we have Harper giving Israel cover for their attacks on an important NATO member in Turkey in their efforts to bring medical aid to a Gaza that is being collectively punished for a political agenda of Israel that ignores human dignity, a nations responsibility over people in its care, international law, and the equality of human rights. Harper supports the Netanyahu shame of an inquiry with Canada’s name when the inquiry is not international in scope, as the UN demanded, but rather is a national inquiry with a Canadian observer… and the board has no rights to ask anyone to testify before the commission only the right to review the information that the IDF provides. Israel meanwhile having given Canada their war plan are amassing fighter/bomber planes in Azerbaijan for an attack on Iran… of which Peter Kent, Harper’s Junior Foreign Affairs Minister recently said, “an attack on Israel would be an attack on Canada”… meaning Canada would automatically declare war on an ‘aggressor’ in Israeli eyes. Harper himself is on record as saying “In this ongoing battle, Canada stands side by side with the State of Israel, our friend, and ally in the democratic family of nations. We have stood with Israel even when it ahs not been popular to do so, and we will continue to stand with Israel as I have always said we would”.

Meaning if Israel attacks Iran, Harper commits Canada to war with a good part of the Middle East…. And his crusade for a Canada of enlightened sovereignty will presumably be the end result….

The agent provocateurs won in Toronto last week creating the images they wanted us all to see… the same types of characters are leading us to war we can’t win in the name of enlightened sovereignty… from my perspective.
Also one will notice how Harper calls for Canada to be subjected to 'enlightened sovereignty' under an international bureaucracy... but he supports national impunity for Israel and all bu defies international law as regards Israeli actions, responsibilities, and accountability. One seriously needs to question where Harper's loyalties truly are... seems the same can be said of his election promises as well.
After watching what went on in Toronto last week... all the above just had to be said IMO.

Humanity truly is at a cross roads... one way is the way of a free people sovereign and self determining, and the other is global tyranny of population repressed by technology and governed by a small elite of the choose few. Canada will play a big role in its outcome and what we seen in Toronto last week is only the beginning....
Campfire sizes are important .... tar sand sizes are not. Everyone knows that!!
I look forward to 'Friday Free For All' until it turned into 'Essays By Eagleone"
Trained as a chemist Dr. Paul Connett is known throughout the world as a leader in the movement against water fluoridation because of his knowledge base.

He is truly dedicated to the cause of ending water fluoridation, and heads up an organization called the Fluoride Action Network or www.fluoridealert.org that contains a wealth of information... A new look at the science behind water fluoridation argues that just because the medical establishment endorses a public health measure, that doesn't mean it's safe.

In the case of water fluoridation, the chemicals used to fluoridate the water that more than 180 million people drink each day are not pharmaceutical grade, but rather hazardous waste products of the phosphate fertilizer industry; it is illegal to dump these into rivers and lakes or release the parent gases into the atmosphere.

In addition, water fluoridation is a prime example of one of the worst medical practices possible—forced medication with no control over the dose or who gets it.

Continuing research brings new information to light, including links between fluoride and harm to your brain, bones, and kidneys, and shows that while there is possible value in topical applications like brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste, the evidence that swallowing fluoride reduces tooth decay is surprisingly weak.

In my opinion the City of Prince George should turn off the fluoride injection system now! 96.5% of BC residents do not have fluoride added to their city water, we are part of the last 3.5% who are forced to put up with it. Why?

(Sorry for the *essay* part).
I wonder how long it will take gas stations to jack up the price of fuel to the old .9 way of doing things? Stations that have raised their prices, thanks to Campbell, to 108.0 The .9 has to come soon and it won't be 107.9
I enjoy Opinion250 but if I see one more crashing car rolling toward me or get one more request that I "click here" for an unwanted programme, I will scream.

I am SummerSoul and this is just SummerSoul's opinion.
I always thought eht "N" decal on the back of vehicles mean NOVICE DRIVER...as time goes on I think that should be renamed NON-CONFORMING DRIVER....I can't believe how many N drivers are driving like total morons.
latest one I see...N decal...far in excess of posted speed, changing lanes irrratically and not signalling, children in the back of the vehicle not belted in, smoking driver, who was texting...my god woman grow up...and yes it was a woman...have seem men almost as bad but this was by far the worst...so far...
The Netherlands is winning against Brazil!! Love it!!!
They did it!!! .. There was an exciting game end!!!! The way soccer should be.
Eagleone needs a blog. A blog that you seek out on purpose if you want to read his stuff, as opposed to having it thrust upon you!
I keep hearing about how the HST is good for businesses, I own a business, if people will not spend their money in my business because of the rising cost due to HST, how is that a good thing?

You gotta wonder how can the Liberals look at themselves in the mirror each day after flat out lying to all the people in their ridings.

I was not a big supporter of Vanderzalm when he was in office, but if he can nail those lying creeps that screwed us to get into office then have at er Bill you've got my support.

I wonder what an honest politician looks like? I don't know cause there aren't any, kind of like a unicorn, you hear its a beautiful thing but no one has ever seen one.

Hope everyone had a happy Canada Day, I did, just me and my family in the backyard, a great day.

Have a good weekend everyone.
Does anyone read Eagleone's comments? He does need a blog. This is a free for all...not Eagleone's personal opinion page.
How about a positive note despite the new taxes.
A very big thank you to the business's and the grant getter that provided the great fireworks show last night. Im guessing that by all the cheers and horn honking, that im not the only one that enjoyed it.
Is it my imagination or are there way more cars ,trucks, houses, etc. displaying our flag? Proudly Canadian.
Now, off to pay my property tax....
Once again though, thanks for the fireworks.
How long until the first "dont pay the HST" sale? Is it going to be a car dealership or an electronics store? Place your bets!

Have a great weekend all
Does anyone know where one can obtain a list of these businesses that Initiatives PG has teamed up with?Is Initiatives PG funded through municipal taxes, and if so can the citizens ask them to step aside in their support of the HST?Have a great weekend everyone!
Soooooo!? When do the recall petitions start?
I am concerned with the smell coming from the landfill. I have driven by it for 29 years and this year have been astonished at how bad the smell is. In past years it was seldom even detectable. What has changed?
I hear tell that the city has $111 million dollars of debt. Maybe hizzoner Dan the man can go to the bank and get our debt consolidated so PG can get a clean credit card and get those things for us that are most needed. $50 mil for a PAC. $40+ mil for a cop shop and last but not least a new fire hall for downtown. Just heard this AM that the firemen would appreciate a bigger, better more modern fire hall so they can fight fires successfully like they did at the plywood plant, the airport and the Yellowhead Inn. How about it , Dan? Need more money from us taxpayers? Initiate a recycling service for papers, cardboard and tin cans. Charge us $86 dollars a year to start, raise it every year and soon you can consolidate again and start anew. The US is in debt way over their heads and they seem to live with it. China will lend you the dough. Go for it, Danno.
Was out the Anzac area Thursday. Around 4pm when I was on my way out I spotted a large plume of blue smoke coming from the Tacheeda lake area. There were many people camped there that could also see the smoke.
Get this... when asked if anyone had reported it the general answer was "don't think so, it's been going since early this morning".

Being there is no cell service that far out I called it in from Bear lake.

As it turns out CNR had also called it in about the same time I did.

My thoughts are... it's a good thing not everyone on this planet are as STUPID as those campers that stood there and watched a forest fire develop before there very eyes and did absolutely nothing about it.

Do you morons go out there and do heroin for fun?
Re: red2b and RugratsMom

I NEVER read Eagleone's posts... they are way to loooooooooong and BORING...

Don Wilkins - I don't know if its related but a new company has taken over the landfill contract this year.
Here's where its important... Even Anderson Cooper is starting to see whats happening. I've read that US military personal are already moving their families out of the region in preparation for large scale evacuations (to Canada?).

There is a catastrophe in the gulf taking place right now that is entirely man made and intentional from the start. Surely when the crimes are this large, then one must assume the agenda is just as large.

I'd like not to write at all, but the world is changing quickly right now and most people haven't a clue because its not being reported on.

MERGE - sign is yellow and says MERGE
means you MERGE into traffic not come to a complete stop and wait in the MERGE lane

YIELD - sign is red and white and say YIELD
means if there is traffic coming in the lane you want to be in STOP and WAIT until it is safe to proceed, NOT TRY AND RAM THE PERSON IN THAT LANE OUT OF YOUR WAY THEN PROCEED TO FINGER & NAME CALL!! AND THEN SLAM ON YOUR BRAKES LIKE YOU TRYING TO TEACH THEM A LESSON!!

whew now I feel better LOL
Some people are not used to driving in fast traffic.

As with the Tango, it takes two to merge properly - the driver speeding up to the speed of those in the lane to be entered and the driver who has been chosen (without specific notice) to be the one to widen the gap between him/her and the car in front.

If the two do not connect properly through telepathy or "vehicle language", then the car in the merge lane has two options, squeeze in, or come to a stop before running out of room. If there are cars behind, they too will have to come to an abrupt stop and begin venting before they pop a fuse. :-)

It is tricky for some drivers, and can be quite dangerous in that case.
Eagleone ..... I heard BP hired an expert about a year ago that knew how to create a blow out of an undersea well that would look like an accident ....

I was thinking that person was not running on all cylinders. Of course, now that I hear a second person saying the same thing, it is obviously true.
Initiatives PG is funded by the City to the tune of $2.5 Million a year. They have no business taking sides on a political issue.

Everyone at IPG should be laid off, and the money saved could go to paving roads, and reducing our garbage costs.

As it now stands we pay $2.5 Million a year for the garbage spewed out by IPG.
acrider54, gas now 108.9 at save on gas bar down town.
I wonder how long it will take the Lieberals to spend millions of our tax money on a pro-HST propaganda blitz. Kind of ironic that taxpayers money would be spent to hype a tax that taxpayer clearly do't want. I see where big business is no better than te government in going to court over the HST petition. As ever the bottom line is the big buck. I for one will take note of those supporting this court case Like any business that belongs to the Chamber of Commerce. I will not support this businesses if an alternative is available. Why should I spend my pension money at a business that is in favor of increasing my taxes and lowering the taxes of themselves. Nuff said.
Gus, I think that's how the internet works.

The problem is when honest questions are being covered up, then one is left to wonder... hmmm why would they try to cover these things up... why is there no accountability.. how bad can it get.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm running on all cylinders when I read the stuff I read... I guess we will all know in a few weeks. One would hope the relief wells don't blow out as well, or this is bound to become catastrophic to half the planet. Almost every safeguard that should have been in place was ignored to this point, so that's what we have to go on.

We are seeing a foreign multinational exercising martial law on the Gulf coast at this time already... soon we could see the government exercising martial law throughout the entire American south. There will be plenty of economic chaos to come of this.
Gas in Williams Lake 97.9. Was that price Monday and did not go up today.
Old Hippy,

The real ironic thing here is that the companies wish to challenge the right of 700,000 voting citizens from having a say democratically on a law that was brought in with no democratic mandate after it was promised the HST would not be brought in under the liberals... and then a few days after the elections a complete reversal... so its all right to cheat the voters into a $1.9 billion dollar tax shift from business to the middle class by manipulating the election (of which they were part of with their CEO's letter to the editor days before the election), and then when the voters call foul and want to have their say in all of this monumental tax transfer, the largest in our history... then the corporate suits file a court challenge to our democratic rights to have a say with out vote.

It just goes to show that the dynastic oligarchy is alive and well in BC... the axis of big business, government bureaucracy, and the naive partisans that control our political parties and actually think they are important for playing their part.

The corporate groups are directly challenging our right to representative democracy. They're taking our tax dollar to advocate a corporate agenda to us and on behalf of us... they're drafting our laws for their own benefit without oversight from the public.

What a real politician that represented citizens and people and small business would insist upon would be that corporations can not be characterized as people in regards to their rights for operation in our economies and societies and above all before our courts.

Unlike people, corporation:

- can reside in multiple jurisdictions.
- can conceivably exist for hundreds of years.
- can not be incarcerated for their crimes and in most case neither can their managers and officers.
- can not have children or enter into a marriage contract.
- can not independently formulate legitimate opinion separate and distinct from the board of directors, executives, shareholders, employees and other stakeholders alike.
- can not be issued a citizens passport.
- can not vote in an election.
- can not enlist in the military, but rather only profit from the military spending.

and yet corporations are viewed as near equals of citizens in our political process even though they have the ability to overwhelm individual common persons in the political process. If 700,000 people have their democratic rights challenged by corporate lobby groups, then what is an individual to do when challenged for his/her rights?

The BC HST opposition I think should expand their scope of the protest to the HST for not only repealing a tax that was not brought in through a democratic process of giving the public an honest election on the real issues... and it should go beyond even the HST proscription list for recall... the BC HST opposition group I think in light of this corporate challenge in the courts to our democratic rights as citizens should go even further and demand that corporations can in no way be defined as persons with rights of persons and that at most they can have limited liability that is recognized for its legitimate business operations... and not in any way extended to rights involved in the political process or taking initiative against the political process.

We need to bring a certainty of the citizen over the corporations in the political process for the sake of not only democracy, but for the environment, a sustainable economy, a fair taxation system, but also to ensure the survival of a free enterprise economy made up of entrepreneurial small business that shares the values of the people in the economy they operate within.

The example in BC could be an example for the rest of the country and beyond, and through this it could be hoped that the citizens of this world would have a chance at remaining sovereign over the globalist dynastic oligarchy that is being imposed on us through our current political system that allows the fraud of corporate person-hood to undermine and corrupt our politics for the benefit of their financial 'voting-managers'.

Time will tell.... :)
Lets celebrate Canada Day, HST and a raise in the phoney carbon tax, bend over!
opps... to have a say with OUR vote (second paragraph end...)
There is no doubt that the Citizens of BC have to take a stand and stop the HST. To give the HST to this or any Government is just giving them a licence to tax and spend your money without any accountability.

Its time for all Citizens to stand up and be counted. We can no longer afford the luxury of sitting on our asses and complaining but not doing anything. We now have to take some action.

We have a case in this Country where the Politicians, Major Civil Servants, and Corporate Managers are fleecing us for every dollar we earn. They take our tax dollars and convert it into Wages, Salaries, Benefits, and Profits for themselves, and give us very little if anything in return.

This HST Issue will go from the original initiative petition, to elections BC. to committee meeting, to the legislature (assuming its not stopped by the courts) to re-call, and last but not least to the Election of 2013.

One thing is certain the issue will not go away. We have had it with Governments who have no fiscal responsibility, very little political acumen, and no concern for their fellow man.

The days of Wine and Roses are over for these guys. They have picked the pocket of the last taxpayer. Now is the time to put them in their place.

Anyone who is too bloody lazy to join the fight, or to lazy to register to vote, or take an active interest in whats going on around them, should give themselves a swift kick in the butt, or have a freind kick it for them.

We need everyone to oppose this tax, so lets get with it.
Palopu .... and who is going to be any different? They will all tax. The will adjust the tax in a differnt fashion.

Move to the left, and there will be more of a social safety net, but also more interference with personal freedoms, and there will be more tax because the taxpayer will have to pay for it.

Move to the right, there will be a weaker social safety net but also likely more interference with personal freedoms more towards the moral side of the spectrum and there will be more tax to pay for enforcement, but the tax will hit the lower income groups even more than the HST will.

If you have a different scenario, let me hear it. Remember, if you undo something, you have to have a replacement. Going back in time, what was the best provincial government in Canada or what was the best federal government based on value for money? If it was better than the current BC government, who will be able to lead this province to repeat it today and why?

The lasdt part is a 50 point question. The total is out of a 100. Opinions without bsackup will not count. BS will receive negative marks, so be careful.
