Prince George, B.C.- Two Kelly Road High School students were on hand this morning to see their banners put in place .
“We were told the art work had to be about the arts and about Prince George” says 17 year old Candice Daoust. Two of her banners, one called Spirit Bear, the other Mona Lisa, are among those that will be displayed throughout the Hart and at 5th and Central. Candice says she never imagined her work would be hanging over the City.
The banner project was done under the direction of Kelly road Art Teacher Robin Beauregard. The images were painted on paper, then transferred to a fabric suitable for hanging.
The new designs are richly coloured and contemporary. They replace the salmon images that have been displayed in the Hart for the past couple of years.
Below,  City employee Bob Elmore takes the old banner down,   and puts a new one up:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$?!
Pretty
As I was riding my motorcycle on the Hart I hit a pothole and went flying through the air and I remember thinking about how pretty the banner looked as I flew upside down before I crashed into the curb. I was so glad they put up the banner rather than fix the pothole. It made my experience so much less painful - I jest of course. I'm skilled enough to swerve around the potholes. In fact, I say fix none of them so I can enjoy that unique northern bc sport of motorcycle pothole avoidance :) More banners - less roads!!!!
I think it's money well spent. It's nice to see our youth & students showcase their talent. It's great for the kids, gives them something to remember and it also looks good.
I too like them.
