Crash Sheers Off Light Pole In BCR Site

 Prince George, B.C.- A 23 year old man is lucky to have escaped injury this morning when his vehicle sheered off a light pole on Pacific Street.
 
RCMP say they   responded to the scene of the crash in the 1100 Block of Pacific Street in the BCR industrial area around5:00 this morning. 
 
There, they found a blue Pontiac which had gone off the road to the right, where it hit a light pole before rolling into the ditch. The light pole was sheered off and was lying in the travel portion of Highway 97. 
Highway crews were called to the scene as well as a tow truck for the severely damaged vehicle.
 

A 23 yr old male driver was not injured and told police he must have fallen asleep while driving. The driver has been charged with Drive without Due Care and Attention

Took me a moment too. A sheer cliff could have a truck fall and shear off its roof. However one cannot sheer a pole nor a sheep.
I think it was sheer luck that he survived.
