McBride, B.C,- The community of McBride has been given a grant of $150 thousand dollars from the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.
The money is to be used for phase two of the community’s waste water treatment plan which will develop the project’s tourism aspect .
The project builds a series of multi-sports, interpretive trails presenting recreation, wildlife viewing and environmental educational opportunities.
The trail system includes a full kilometre of scenic riverfront and beach. A substantial portion of the trails will provide recreational opportunities focused on multi-generational groups and persons with mobility issues, ensuring all-inclusive enjoyment of the area.
The project, located at the main entrance to the village off Highway 16, reclaims a former Waste Transfer Station site, develops regional recreation/tourism, and improves the visual appeal of McBride.
