Prince George RCMP officers have collared a suspect wanted in connection with an armed home invasion in Vanderhoof.

Vanderhoof RCMP allege a man burst into a residence in that community around 9:30 Thursday morning and produced a gun.  Police say the homeowner was assaulted and forcibly confined.

Today, Prince George officers on routine patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle in the VLA neighbourhood, near 19th Avenue and Juniper Street.

Further investigation discovered the plate did not belong to the vehicle and the male driver was found to have an outstanding warrant.  In addition, a female passenger was found to be in possession of a small quantity of cocaine.  Both the man and woman have been arrested.

The male will appear before a Justice of the Peace today.  RCMP are requesting he be remanded in custody until a court appearance.
