Cancer Services in the region are expected to take centre stage at Northern Health's first board of directors meeting of the year in Prince George tomorrow.
The Board is scheduled to receive an update on a community consultation process on a NH cancer strategy. And, then, during the public presentation portion of the meeting, Vanderhoof Mayor Len Fox is one of two speakers slated to make a pitch for cancer services.
Fox says he's unwilling to discuss the proposal he and Dr. Shannon Douglas will present tomorrow. He says he wants board members to be the first to hear the details, but he will say the service proposal is not specific to Vanderhoof and would cover a large portion of the region -- possibly from Burns Lake, to Fort St. James, to Vanderhoof.
Also on the agenda for the public board session is a progress report on the 2006-2007 budget. The public session begins at 1:00pm in the multi-purpose room of Northern Health's Meadow Location (the former Meadow Elementary School) at 687 Dornbierer Crescent.

My simple way of looking at things seems to say that what we are doing isn't working very well. Doing more of the same thing is not going to change the results. Percy
