Prince George, B.C. – The Elton John ticket auction to help raise money for the Paws for a Cause SPCA event, wrapped up with the pair of tickets going for $1,000.
The auction was set up by Sheri Grantham, a local investment advisor who is an annual top fundraiser for the SPCA .
Grantham had two tickets to the show, and rather than just sell them at face value, she opted instead to   offer them up to auction for the SPCA, and the full amount (including face value of the tickets) will be part of her Paws for a Cause donation this year. The purchasers of the tickets wanted to remain anonymous, but Grantham says they are a major SPCA supporter.
Grantham is not the only person to use the sold out Elton John concert as a catalyst for charity.
CN Centre Manager, Andy Beasley says he knows of numerous people in the community who have purchased tickets to this concert  then offered them for a charitable fund raising event “This is so typical of the people of Prince George” says Beasley “They are generous and kind and want to make something good happen.” He says the others who have   donated their tickets to help raise money for other causes, are not it in for the publicity, they just want to help others.
