Edson- Police now confirm that the 2006 Hyundai Tucson , bearing Alberta license number ZPK 289, has been found in a wooded area about 30 kilometers east of Edson, Alberta, near Carrot Creek.

Police have been doing forensic examinations of the area along with looking over the nearby area for possible clues.

Meantime investigators still want to hear from anyone who may have seen this vehicle between July 5th and 16th. It is not known whether the vehicle that is shown in the picture had been in the Prince George area.

There had been reports that the vehicle was spotted here by three different groups of people.

Meantime the Prince George RCMP would like to acknowledge that some procedural errors occurred in obtaining information from two potential witnesses that may have sighted the vehicle related to the missing Alberta couple.

This statement was issued after a Prince George couple complained to media that they were brushed aside in their attempts to report their sighting of the missing vehicle.

RCMP  continue to look for  a 38 year old man as “person of interest” in the  disappearance of the   McCann’s.

Assistant RCMP Commissioner Hourihan says 38 year old Travis Edward Vader  ( in photo ) is a person of interest in the case, is considered dangerous and should not be approached. RCMP in Edmonton  say they  believe Vader is connected,  but at this point,  he is only a person of interest.  He is being looked for on non-related outstanding warrants.

Travis Vader's hometown is Mackay, Alberta, a small community near highway 16, Between Edmonton and Jasper, Alberta.

Looks like a real winner. Mybe he borrowed their car, drove to PG, had lunch and headed back to Edson.
what is significant and unfortunate is that now with the vehicle recovered the search is for the McCann's. I hope closure can be reached swiftly for the family.
What of those "sightings" of the vehicle in Prince George? Were these witnessed deluded or publicity seekers? Police should follow up on this. Did the "person of interest" come here and return? Fat chance.
