Prince George, B.C. - With a trio of traditional native dancers - one dressed as a grizzly - by his side, world-renowned artist, Robert E. Sebastian, has donated several pieces of artwork to the city...
A large print is for permanent display at City Hall, while Sebastian hopes city officials will hand out three smaller prints to visiting dignataries.
He says the message in the main print, which depicts four eagles flying out in all four directions, is to the young people to think beyond the immediate future.
Sebastian says the youth of today, both native and non-native, need to get into the mode of thinking about their future goals and looking ahead 20-years, rather than living for just today.
In thanking the Hazelton artist for his donations, Prince George Mayor, Dan Rogers, says the symbolism in the main print will not be lost on the city.
He says the ideas and meaning are timely ones. Rogers was involved in welcoming the 'Sacred Sisters' Unity riders to the city yesterday. He says the entire community needs to stand together and work together to create a safe environment for all.
