Alexis Creek, BC- The Cariboo Regional District issued an evacuation alert last night for residents living in the Bayliff Road area near Alexis Creek.  At this time the alert remains in effect.

 

Residents and motorists are reminded that a detour has been established in the area to avoid travel on Highway 20 through the active firefighting area. At the intersections of Young Road and Highway 20 and Chilko Newton Road and Highway 20, flaggers will detour traffic on a short stretch of gravel road to navigate safely through the Alexis Creek area.
