Quesnel, B.C. - With a number of areas in the Quesnel region under evacuation order or alerts because of wildfires, RCMP are reminding the public there are some areas off limits.

 

 Due to the Pelican Lake fire complex, access to the Batanunni Lakes, Titetown Lake and Pelican Lake   is closed until further notice.

 

The Batanunni and Pelican Forest Service Roads have been compromised due to the fires The Nazko Road from Trout Lake north is also impassable.

 

Access south on the West Fraser Road and Garner Road is not available to prevent access to the areas evacuated due to the Meldrum Creek fire complex.

Anyone found trying to circumvent the road blocks and enter a closed area could be subject to prosecution.
