Scam Artist Busted In Prince Rupert

Prince Rupert - Shaune Michael Nelson has been  arrested by Prince Rupert RCMP on numerous counts of credit card fraud stemming from a joint investigation involving the Prince Rupert RCMP and the British Columbia Gaming Enforcement Branch.
 
The offences took place between July 5-25, 2010 and involved transactions with counterfeit credit cards in various northwest communities including Smithers, Moricetown, Terrace, Kitimat and Prince Rupert.
 
 
The 35-year-old male has been charged with fifty-three criminal code offences; seventeen counts of fraud, seventeen counts of uttering forged documents, seventeen counts of possess, use, traffic credit card data and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance.
 
Nelson was on probation for possessing stolen credit cards when he was arrested .
 
 
The fraudulent transactions in the Prince Rupert area involved multiple purchases of gasoline, cigarettes and lottery tickets at three Prince Rupert and Port Edward businesses.

time and time again I see news reports of this type of crime and nothing happens to the perpetrators --- seems that the police and crown prosecutors and judiciary figure that it is just the cost of using credit cards and maybe our own fault somehow
