North Cariboo, BC - The Cariboo Regional District has issued an evacuation order for the northwest shore of Tsacha Lake. The area falling under this evacuation order is within the Prince George Fire Centre and the Cariboo Regional District, and is described as the northwest shore of Tsacha Lake at the site of the old Blackwater Lodge. This is an active fire and is being monitored closely.

Another tactical evacuation was conducted last night within the Tsacha Lake area. Six persons with three vehicles, travelling through the area were tactically evacuated as a result of aggressive fire behaviour. Using a small helicopter from the fire service, the six people were evacuated to a local ranch, where a larger fire service helicopter picked them up and delivered them to Quesnel.

People living in, or travelling through affected fire areas should use caution as some hazards, such as dangerous trees or hot spots exist. Fire suppression activities including vehicle traffic, heavy equipment, and aircraft will still be present. In some areas there may be displaced livestock or wild life, in combination with smoke or hazards on the roadways.
