Police Investigate Brutal Assault

Prince George, B.C. - In the early morning hours of August 17th 2010 Prince George RCMP responded to a call in the 1700 block of Queensway Street where a passerby had located a male who had been badly beaten.                  
Police arrived on scene and located a 22 yr old male who had been assaulted. The investigation led police to the turn around on Ingledew Street and 20th Avenue by Fort George park where they located the victim's bike and a trail of blood left by the victim.
 
The victim was transported by ambulance to the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia where he is currently being treated for a broken jaw, lacerations to his face and head trauma.
 
RCMP Forensic Identification Unit and Police Dog Services were called to the area to assist with the investigation and to search the grounds for any possible evidence left at the scene.
 
Witnesses advised police that they heard a disturbance in the area at approximately 4am.
 
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the attack or has information on this investigation, to contact the Prince George RCMP or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
