Prince George - Effective immediately, campfires will be permitted within the Prince George Fire Centre's jurisdiction due to a decreased risk of wildfires.  City of Prince George Fire Chief Jeff Rowland says  the  recreational fire ban within City limits will also be lifted.

As for campfires,  they must  be no larger than 0.5 metres wide or 0.5 metres tall, and if you light, it, you will have  to be sure  you have the  proper  tools on hand to deal with it:
such as a shovel, orat least eight litres of water, nearby to fully extinguish it.

Although small, contained campfires are now permitted, open fires of any other description remain prohibited. This prohibition includes fireworks and burning barrels. Details are available at http://bcwildfire.ca/hprScripts/WildfireNews/Bans.asp.
