Residents of the City of Prince George are invited to attend an open house at the City Hall Annex on June 21st from 5.30 till 9.00 as the City of Prince George works towards the completion of a new Zoning By-law. It was last updated in 1980.
Heading the process is Stantec Consulting, with the assistance of the law firm of Bull, Housser & Tupper of Vancouver. Stantec says it is seeking a Prince George solution in the zoning process, “The emphasis should be on what’s right for the community”.
Stantec has also won awards for its planning in Scottsdale, Arizona , The Paradies Stores in Ft Lauderdale, Florida , The Detroit Met Airport for best overall concession design, along with its work in Lethbridge, Edmonton and the City of Calgary.
The mission statements says , “What it is not; It is not intended that we look specifically at each project to see if they should be re-zoned, this is better served through the local planning process."
Three drafts will be prepared in the process and will be presented to city council for their views through an interactive process.

include the Mayor and Council-as I do not think there is a MIGHTY mind amongst the lot of them) No offense meant or intended!!!!
Shocks me the Powers that Be at City Hall are so mindless they cannot see the problems that exist in this city, and they are not new ones, so many passing years should have given them some insight as to the fact they have allowed an incurable problem to develop. Sure hope a lot of these "winners" get their pink slips this year and become a part of the past they have been largely responsible for the destruction of. Now we have to take tax dollars and pay strangers to come up with solutions, which I am sure will add to our taxes again. We, the citizens of this city, must really be the dummies to put up with all this insanity!!!!! Cheers
